Who we are and what we do – in our own words

Montserrat Sardà

Montserrat Sardà

Montserrat received her bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), and in order to combine her passion for languages with her more legal interests, she also earned a second bachelor’s degree in Law at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

After completing an internship in Germany, she obtained her Masters in Conference Interpreting at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife), a member of the European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) consortium accredited by the European Commission. She has taught university courses on the subject of German and Spanish legal translation.

Currently, she works as a freelance conference interpreter and translator, with her suitcase always at the ready. She enjoys travel, reading, the beach, the mountains, and creating bridges between cultures – and of course, continuing to study languages.

Carmen Villalba

Carmen Villalba

Carmen obtained her bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). When her program finished, she studied in Germany for a while and then moved to the US, where she received her Master’s in Translation and Interpreting at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (California) through the assistance of a Fulbright scholarship.

She lived in New York for a few months, where she served as a medical interpreter at a hospital and completed an internship at the United Nations Headquarters. She also worked as an editor and project manager at a company located in Los Angeles.

Currently, she works as a freelance interpreter, translator, and editor. She never turns down an opportunity to travel the world to explore new places and reconnect with old friends. She also loves dogs almost as much as she loves languages and interpreting.
